LOL... yeah.. OMG!!

I feel a bit weird because it's been really quite awhile since I wrote a decent post here. I actually don't know how or where to start. A lot of things have happened and maybe some of you knows what's going on in our lives. Thanks to facebook (and twitter).

To sum up the almost 3 months of being hiatus online --- well
** BUSY BUSY BUSY
** it was all about AZUMI --- her new journey
** I had to quit my job to give more time and attention to my lil girl since she'll be attending school (which started on the first week of October)
** Azumi's 3rd birthday
** ... and a lot more

NONETHELESS...
I will try to catch up and be a good blogger I used to be.

It's funny that I don't even paint my nails and then I would catch Anzu doodling her nails with a red pen in the corner while I am busy with my chores at the kitchen.

It was the reason why there was a sudden unusual silence in our living room during her most Peak Hour. Good thing it was washable and non toxic.

Yeah it happened some few weeks ago.

I almost forgot that I still haven't updated Azumi's videos in youtube. There are lots of clips to upload.  Well my sister keeps on reminding me to upload because my family in Philippines misses Anzu so much.

Photo and video sharing is one of the things that keep us closer (thanks technology).

Today, I have uploaded 2 videos which made  me realized how time has always practically fly by us without noticing it for awhile.

Anzu was still 25 months old when I took these clips. We were still baby-baby talking.

This was one of the days when I try to put her on to nap. She's always energetic and talkative especially when she's about to sleep.



Obviously, she loves Dora. Don't be surprise if she speaks to you in spanish like "buenas dias", "buenas suerte", "abre", "ariba"... She's even better in counting than me lol (will upload it soon).

Last week, our little kawaii princess has turned TWO. We had a simple and yet so much fun celebration with some loveones and friends. It was fun to see her so energetic, showing off her skills and silliness, together with her equally energetic cousin Ryukun. Her BFF Miki Chan came to join too..

Compared to last year's birthday, it wasn't that tiring. Mom and cousin Kristal brought delicious foods and cake. ( Special Thanks to my mom, cousin Kristal and Shacho San :) ).

The best part about this party had to be the anticipation in Anzu's eyes during the long wait of candle blowing and eating because of the endless picture taking lol. Anzu just couldn't wait so she was grabbing the cake to taste while we were busy taking photos..



I love parties.. may it be too simple or simple. What I love most about it is the laugh and chitchats with friends and loveones.

This is one of my long overdue posts.

Anzu was 18 months when she can already identify most of the alphabets and can count 1-10. Aside from me and her dad, I think her Brainy Babies DVD set has also helped her to learn.

Aside from ABC, she can also recognize colors, shapes, and illustrations.

I love to think that she is a child prodigy but it's normal in her age to recognize things such as ABC, colors, number, animal, etc.

All kids are different and will learn at their own rate. Don't worry if your child couldn't sit long enough and doesn't seem to show any interest, that is also normal. Just keep on working on it in a fun way and one day he will just get into. It's not just about learning but spending many loving and happy moments with your child.

What's up dearies? What can you say about this blog's new look? Well I'll definitely gonna rave about it on my next post.

Now, let's talk about movies and my little girl.

Since she's barely a toddler, we haven't taken her yet to the big screen. Although I heard that there are also special mommy-baby show times at some movie theaters. I don't have plan to try it lol.. I'd rather watch alone and enjoy.

She loves television. Actually, it’s not just T.V. that she loves. Anything that is flickering. It may be computer or phones.




It has become a routine to let her watch several videos a day. She's watching the same videos everyday. Aside from the educational programs she can watch on the local tv, she has a set of Dora, Barneys, Baby Einstein, Baby Bumblebee, Barbie,and Strawberry Shortcake.

It’s not that I intentionally subject her to hours of media but lately, she would hand me the next dvd she wanna watch.. I think it's my fault that she's becoming a media addict..

I should have thought she would have turned out this way because I let her watch for me to do my own thing like chores and internet!

I'm gonna keep my eye on this lil girl from now on... I don't want her to be like me, who was into drama series, in the future

I am indeed a true filipino. My photo and video uploads are always late. Azumi is almost 22 months already but then I haven't done yet uploading videos from May to present on Youtube. My Flickr Photostream is also outdated, and so as my multiply and other other links. Blaming facebook and Grey's Anatomy would be such a lame excuse but honestly, they are the culprit for taking too much of my time whenever I am online. Nanisi pa eh no...

Anyway,

What's up with our darling Kiki? Just wanna share you our latest video upload. She was barely 19 months old then but already knows how to count from 1-10.



I can't remember when did I exactly introduced numbers to her. I started with singing counting songs such as "One, two, buckle my shoe," when going up and down the stairs with her. I always take advantage of every opportunities to count together. We also use some tools like flashcards (ou can also make for yourself) and learning dvd.

Currently, she can count 1 to 20 --although she skips to 15, 16 ---20 sometimes. She also have learned to count in nihonggo Ichi (1) to Jyu (10).

I don't go around bragging. But I'm just so proud of what our daughter has accomplished, with our efforts of course. And I'm glad that she's a kid that loves to learn.

Im not sure if you can already recognize your baby's talents as early as 12 months or younger but I think this is the best time to encourage your child to explore without overwhelming her. She doesn't need to try everything right now but introducing her to activities she wouldn't otherwise know existed is just great thing to do.

As for our lil girl, oldies around us are encouraging her to be a budding artist. Granny Baba bought her art materials which are designed for babies. Crayons are not made of harmful chemicals so no need to worry if lil ANzu will suck them (for sure she always does before coloring)

I thought I won't be able to join this week's mommy moments but awhile ago, while I was taking a break from cleaning our messy dining room, the lil girl suddenly took the vaccum and started to clean the floor. Of course she was only pretending but the thing is, she was trying to help lol.




I usually don't let her near me when I vaccum not only because of the flying dusts but also she either gets in my way or she plugs off the vacuum's switch. Only when Im done... I was quite surprise awhile ago coz she could finally carry it longer. Gosh my baby is indeed a little girl now...

Its really amazing when kids immitate adults. It's cute. Just like the past week, she has learned to put some of her toys in the basket. Pero syempre, its so early to tell if she's really cleaning or just immitating what she always see.

Our weekends were almost spent in our home sweet home . It's almost winter in here (is it already?) The days and the nights have been even colder because of the cloudy (and almost rainy) weather . Just a good reason to stay at home and relax. After all, it was a tiring week last week, so we thought that it's ok to be lazy over the weekend lol.

We did nothing but eat, watch dvds, play with our lil Azumi, and sleep. Sarap ng buhay.. if only we could always be like that, lazy bummers

...with her high-pitch squeals, amusing laugh... the way she plays her toys, sometimes she puts them all in a basket by all herself..


We havent been going out for days to our usual walk due to the crazy weather and its really cold.

SO she settles nearby the window to say Hi to our friendly neighbors.. She really says Hi and waves her hands to someone passing by..

The scary and yet one of the things that excites her since 11 months old is climbing upstairs. We really have to be more extra attentive coz one second, she already climbed a few steps up the stairs. She already figured out how to open the sliding door in the living room to get her way to the stairs.

Anzu obviously loves dogs, especially her granny's adopted pet, Maru Chan who was born a day after Anzu's birth day. As far as I can remember, the first time we introduce them to each other was when they were 3-4 months old. Maru Chan was always been a shy dog, unlike the other dogs. She's such a good dog, lovely ...so quiet, never barks.. never clutters.. I can't believe she has manners too lol.. Really!

When my baby started to crawl, all she wanted to do whenever her grannies (and maru chan) are around is to crawl over Maru and touch her. They are so cute. Anzu was always chasing her.. And Maru was just running around instead of barking her ( like what the other dogs normally do when they're pissed or being chased ). We love Maru Chan, she's part of the family. Well technically, she's Anzu's Aunt lol..

I got loads of funny videos to keep for memories. These clips are my current favorite clips among all the Anzu-Maru episodes. Because this was the first time Maru Chan actually played with her. She usually runs off from our lil dolly. But lookie lookie, Anzu was really amused by Maru Chan. Beautiful friendship has began indeed. They are now officially playmates lol.

Anyway, this week will gonna be the busiest I think, because few more days till our lil princess' BIG DAY. There was a big change of plans but definitely we are going to celebrate! We still have a whole 3 days before we graduate her to the world of toddlerhood.

Our lil dolly Anzu's latest excitement is climbing up stairs and walking. But let's talk about the latter excitement.

The white pair is actually her first shoes which her granny Baba purchased in babies' r us, along with her new bike (haven't posted it yet). It's still big for Anzu yet so I bought her a new pair of sneakers few days after while we were waiting for her dad. I didn't have intentions of buying her pink shoes but that's the only pair available for her size. It's cute though and its so girly.





It was funny when she was trying on her first shoes. She acted very oddly with them on her feet. She seemed afraid to stand up. But after few minutes, she got used to it. ALthough I had kinda hard time putting them on coz she didn't like it.


Few days after, she's really ready to put them to use. Now she loves taking them on wherever she can go. Yesterday, we had walk in the late afternoon with my mom's MIL, Okasan and her dog Haru Chan... It's been awhile for her to have a good walk eversince she had severe backpains early this year. It's also Anzu's first time to walk with her. Actually, we used to walk together when I was pregnant. She comes by to our house, leaving me no choice but to go with her lol.

Anyway, showing some photos where Anzu was wearing her kawaii shoes. And also my loving friendly neighbors who adore Azumi so much. I love them so much.



Can't believe that shoes are now included in my baby shopping lists. I kinda felt weird at first or it just hit me a bit. I was reminded that big changes has already began. My baby is becoming much less of a baby and getting more like of a kid everyday. She still can't take her few steps without holding onto something but she's getting there. NO need to rush.

Two weeks from now, our lil dolly Anzu will be graduating for toddlerhood. And I still have this smallest bit of denial lol.

I just want to share my baby's clip while she brushes her two pearly white teeth. Although she's not yet that good on brushing... but atleast she's loving it and with continous practice (with my supervision of course), she would probably master it before she completes her teeth . I as being "sigurista", I have been using a cloth (gauze) over her gums to get them used to being cleaned even before her teeth erupted. I still do it everyday, once a day, even if she's already tries to brush her own teeth with her cute tooth brush, still not enough for me. Not until she can use toothpaste.
I love it when she willingly does with enthusiasms whatever I teach her. She seems to know that her Fab momma (wanna be lol ) knows what's best for her. As all mommas do ...

Those teeth will surely put to good use. Mothers always know best

When should I start brushing my baby’s teeth?
Pediatricians and dentists recommend starting as soon as the first tooth comes in. That's because sugars in food, milk and formula can form a plaque-like film. Removal of this film is important to promote good oral hygiene at an early age.

What should I use to brush my baby's teeth?
When your baby is under a year old, she (or he) needs to become accustomed to having her teeth and gums cleaned. A soft finger toothbrush will work well.

How do I brush my baby's teeth?
The first few times, begin by cleaning only the front teeth. Soon after, you can gradually move to the back gums. Sitting your baby on your lap works well. Do this twice a day and make it part of your routine - either after baby's bath or when you are brushing your own teeth.
By the time your child is 12 - 18 months, he (or she) will love to have his own toothbrush and mimic you while you brush your teeth together. Let your baby experiment with it.
When it's your turn, hold your toothbrush at a 45 degree angle along the gum line. Then gently move the brush back and forth, using short strokes. Brush the outer surfaces, the inside and the chewing surfaces. For the inside of the front teeth, hold the brush vertically and use up and down strokes.
You'll need to do most of the brushing since it takes a number of years before a child has the coordination to do it alone.

Can I put my baby to bed with a bottle?
You should never put your baby to bed with a bottle (unless it's water) since the sugar in formula or juice will pool around the teeth. A severe condition known as bottle tooth decay may occur.
It's also best not to let your toddler walk around with a bottle during the day. What's important is to minimize the amount of time the bottle is in the mouth.

Why should I use a non-fluoride cleanser for my baby?
While fluoride can help prevent cavities, its use must be carefully controlled in young children. Children are exposed to a wide variety of sources, including drinking water, fluoride toothpaste, fluoride supplements, formula, juice and other kinds of food. Ingesting too much fluoride could result in fluorosis, white spots that develop on the permanent teeth. Fluoride toothpaste may not be appropriate for children under two (ask your doctor or dentist) because babies under two may swallow the toothpaste and ingest too much fluoride.

When should I start taking my child to the dentist?
Your pediatrician is trained to check a baby's teeth and provide instruction on cavity prevention.
Visits to the dentist are also an important part of good oral care. The American Academy of Pediatric Dentistry and the American Dental Association recommend a first check-up before your child turns one. The purpose of this visit is for a preventive exam only.

The key to teach our babies how to brush their teeth is as simple as ABC. Make it a fun process.


Of course we want our babies to pick up the good habit of brushing their teeth early in life and we want them to do that often and regularly to make their teeth stronger and look like a real pearly. The only way to achieve this is to teach them to do this is... to make it part of the routine and make them want to do it.
